Powerball First Millionaire of the Year Promotion Prizes

In each drawing, one player will win a New Year’s Eve VIP Experience Trip (valued at $20,000). A second player will win $2,023.

Here’s what the trip prize includes for each winner and a guest. Prize for winner only where noted.

• How do I enter the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year Promotion?
  Entries for this promotion are accepted through the Lottery website and Lottery mobile app only.  Mailed entries are not accepted and will not be entered.

• My password is not being accepted when I try to log in. What's wrong?
  Most likely, you haven't opened a MyGameRoom account. You'll need to open an account to enter this promotion. Click Register in the top-right corner of any valottery.com page to register. Once completed, click the Continue button.
• I forgot my password. What should I do?
  Click Login in the top-right corner of any valottery.com page, and follow the instructions to have your password emailed to you. You'll need to use the original email address you used to open a MyGameRoom account even if it is no longer current.
• I am not able to enter my Promotion Number and Entry Code. When I click on SUBMIT or ENTER TICKETS, I am asked to log in. Why is this happening?
  To enter this promotion on the internet, you need a MyGameRoom account. To open an account, click Register in the top-right corner of any valottery.com page to register. Once completed, click the Continue button. 
• Where do I find the numbers that I am supposed to enter?
  
  
  The Promotion Number and Entry Code can be found on the bottom of the entry form that accompanied your qualifying Powerball purchase. You will need to enter both numbers to complete the entry process.
• I received a message that says my entry form information has already been entered. How can that be if I have the entry form in my possession, and what should I do?
  First, check your list of previously submitted entries to verify that the Promotion Number and Entry Code on your entry form have not been previously entered by you. If they have not, please contact the Lottery by filling out the email form on our Contact Us page. Include all applicable numbers that you tried to enter, and the Virginia Lottery will investigate.
• May I enter a drawing more than once?
  Yes. You may enter a drawing as many times as you wish as long as each entry is based upon a different qualifying purchase. Players may submit a maximum of 25 eligible entry forms a day for this promotion.
• I have entry forms, but I can't remember whether I have entered them into the drawing. How can I see which entry forms have been entered?
  Each time you submit an entry form, a record of the entry appears in your list of entries at the bottom of the page where you submitted your entry form’s numbers. All of your entries are in that list, so you may cross-reference that list with the entry forms you are holding.
• May I dispose of the entry form(s) after I have entered it using my MyGameRoom account?
  Yes. For this promotion, you do not need to keep your entry form(s) once you have successfully submitted the form(s).
• Do I need to be a Virginia resident to enter any Virginia Lottery promotion?
  No. There are no restrictions for out-of-state players. Anyone who is eligible to purchase Virginia Lottery tickets is eligible to participate in our promotions.

Powerball First Millionaire of the Year Promotion Winners and Prizes

• How do I find out if I have been selected as a winner?
  The names of the winners will be posted on our website no more than five (5) business days after each drawing. The winners will become official once we've verified that the winners qualify. We check age, identification and entry validity. We will contact the winners directly to explain how to claim a prize.
• I submitted several entries into the drawing. Why didn't I win a prize?
  The odds of winning a prize in a Virginia Lottery drawing for the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year® Promotion depend on the total number of entries received. Odds of winning the $1 million prize in the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year® Promotion depend on the total number of finalists from all participating lotteries in this promotion.

Powerball First Millionaire of the Year Promotion General Information

• The entry period is August 1, 2022, at 12 a.m. ET through October 9, 2022, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET for the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year® Promotion.
• An entry form or email generated as the result of a qualifying Powerball purchase can be used to enter this promotion.
• Please check here for a complete list of entry dates, deadlines and draw dates.
• Entries for this promotion are accepted through the Lottery website and Lottery mobile app only.
• This promotion is open to players 18 years of age or older. Players may be required to provide proof of date of birth.
• A player may enter the promotion more than once as long as a different qualifying entry is submitted. 
• All entries submitted have an equal chance of winning a prize.
• Odds of winning a prize in a Virginia Lottery drawing for the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year® Promotion depend on the total number of entries received. Odds of winning the $1 million prize in the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year® Promotion depend on the total number of finalists from all participating lotteries in this promotion.
• The Virginia Lottery will not be responsible for entries submitted incorrectly or received before the entry start date or after the end date. Such entries shall be deemed invalid.
• We try to contact winners by email, phone and/or mail. If you want us to reach you quickly, be sure your contact information is up to date in your MyGameRoom account. If we can't reach a winner by the deadline listed in the rules, we will then move on to an alternate.

Entering the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year Promotion via the web, an email or the Lottery app

• If entering via entry form, each entry must contain a correctly entered Promotion Number and Entry Code from an entry form generated as the result of a qualifying Powerball purchase.
• The required numbers on an entry form may be entered only one time for this promotion.
• Players may submit a maximum of 25 eligible Promotion Numbers and Entry Codes per day for this promotion.
• Players may use the camera on their mobile telephone to scan the entry form to enter the promotion via the Lottery website.
• Players do not need to retain their entry form(s) once the entry form(s) has been entered.
• Players who purchase $10 or more of Powerball on a single shopping cart item online or in the app during the promotional period will receive an email. The email will contain a button that must be clicked in order to enter the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year® Promotion.
• Players can enter this promotion via the email method up to 25 times a day provided that each email has been generated as the result of a qualifying Powerball purchase.
• Players do not need to keep the email after clicking the button and confirming that they have successfully entered the promotion via that specific email.
• Players also have the option of entering via the app with a physical entry form generated by a qualifying retail purchase. Players may use the camera on their mobile telephone to scan the entry form to enter the promotion via the app.
