Mega Millions is a draw game that has two drawings each week. A Mega Millions prize can range from $10 to the jackpot. The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $50 million and grows until the jackpot is won. The Mega Millions jackpot can be won by a single individual or by multiple people.

How to play Mega Millions

• Pick five different numbers from 1 through 70, and select one Mega Ball number from 1 through 24.
• You also can opt for Easy Pick and let the computer choose your numbers.
• You can use a combination of those methods too: Pick some of your favorite numbers, and let the computer fill in the rest.
• Each play (six numbers) costs $5.
• A player can purchase a Mega Millions ticket directly at a Lottery retailer counter, the Lottery Vending Machine, in the Virginia Lottery app or online at valottery.com.
• Digital playslips are available on mobile web and in the Virginia Lottery app.
• Mega Millions drawings take place every week on Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.

Built-in Multiplier

Each Mega Millions play has a Multiplier. The Multiplier does not cost extra, can range from 2X to 10X, is randomly assigned at the time of purchase and can multiply any non-jackpot prize.

Play Options

• Multi-Draw: A Multi-Draw ticket purchased at retail lets you play up to 26 consecutive draws on one ticket; a Multi-Draw ticket purchased online lets you play up to 52 consecutive draws on one ticket. The ticket price increases for each draw you add.
• Future Draw: You can purchase a play for any one (1) drawing after the upcoming drawing and within the next thirteen (13) weeks from the current date. Future Draw is not available when purchasing a Mega Millions play online.
• You can repeat your play and have the same numbers printed on more than one ticket up to 20 times.
• Mega Millions plays cannot be cancelled.
