Many players were excited when most Virginia Lottery Customer Service Centers (CSCs) reopened June 1, and we’re excited to share the stories of some big winners! While you still have the option to claim your winning Lottery tickets by mail, you also can come in to one of our CSC or Prize Zone locations.
In June, we had more than 4,300 players win $1,000 or more- that added up to more than $37 million in prizes claimed! Read on to learn more about some of our latest big winners.
“I just went on to work like nothing happened,” he later told Lottery officials. “It hasn’t sunk in yet.”
If winning once is great, then winning eight times is even better. That’s what happened to Gary Pierpoint of Woodbridge. He won the top prize in our Cash 5 game- not once but eight times in the same drawing! Since the game’s top prize is $100,000, his total winnings came to $800,000.
And if eight is great, then what about winning 20 times? Douglas Rosen of Falls Church had that exact experience playing Pick 4 recently. He bought 20 tickets with the four-digit combination 1-9-5-8 and won the game’s $5,000 top prize 20 times.
“I could just feel it,” he told Lottery officials as he claimed his prize. “I knew I was going to hit!”
Let’s see… Scratchers, draw games, what about Print ‘n Play? For more than a month, Wanda Quesenberry had a big secret. The Meadows of Dan woman had a Print ‘n Play Rolling Jackpot ticket worth $332,986 tucked away in her safe-deposit box.
“It feels great!” she told Virginia Lottery officials when she redeemed her winning ticket.
