Four tickets = four Virginia millionaires. That’s the equation for Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle. The numbers have been drawn, so the question now is: Who are the four $1 million winners?
The top prizes were announced by Virginia Lottery officials shortly before midnight on New Year’s Eve. The $1 million winners are: #027780 (ticket purchased at High Up Food Store, 46970 Community Plaza, Sterling) #045301 (ticket purchased at Coliseum Shell, 2200 Cunningham Drive, Hampton) #328099 (ticket purchased at A & S Express Deli Mart, 5033 Main Street, Stephens City) #341209 (ticket purchased at Arcade News & Gifts, 3404 Washington Avenue, Newport News)
Four additional tickets each win $50,000. Those winning tickets are: #102868 (ticket purchased at Glen Allen Fast Food, 13163 Mountain Road, Glen Allen) #152264 (ticket purchased at Apple Market, 475 Roanoke Road, Daleville) #169966 (ticket purchased at H and H Cash Store, Main Street, Monterey) #174841 (ticket purchased at Jax, Route 15 North, Arvonia)
Another 400 tickets each win $500. Those numbers are now posted at the Virginia Lottery’s website: www.valottery.com. Players can also call the Virginia Lottery Player Information Line at 804-662-LUCK. Anyone who has one of the $1 million tickets should contact the Virginia Lottery. Winners of $500 will be able to redeem their winning tickets beginning January 1: a great way to begin 2008!
Just 440,000 tickets were printed for the raffle. They sold out just hours before the drawing - at 2:49 on the afternoon of December 31, 2007.
Since 1999, all Virginia Lottery profits have been designated solely to K-12 public school education in the Commonwealth. In that time, the Lottery has turned over more than $3.4 billion for Virginia’s public schools, currently representing about 7 percent of annual state funding for public education in Virginia. In 19 years, the Lottery has awarded more than $10 billion in prizes to players and more than $1 billion in retailer commissions. Please play responsibly.
