The Mega Millions game is certainly living up to its name and is now offering a mega-sized jackpot of an estimated $262 million for the Friday, November 11 drawing. That’s because no ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing. “This is now the fourth largest Mega Millions jackpot ever,” said Virginia Lottery Interim Executive Director Donna M. VanCleave. “That kind of excitement is driving very strong sales across Virginia, which translates to more profits for Virginia’s public schools.” While there was no jackpot winning ticket in Tuesday’s drawing, nearly 1.5 million tickets nationwide won prizes, including 78,930 winning tickets in Virginia. Two of those tickets sold in Virginia each won $250,000. Those tickets were purchased at 7-Eleven, 5267 North Lee Highway in Arlington and Southpark Slip In, 425 Southpark Boulevard in Colonial Heights. Seven other tickets sold in Virginia each won $10,000. The winning numbers drawn for Tuesday, November 8, 2005 were: 8-16-21-25-37 and the Mega Ball number was 16. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time. Drawings can be viewed on these Virginia stations:
