What is the Virginia Lottery`s policy on prizes remaining for Scratchers? Scratchers

The Virginia Lottery shall post detailed information about all of its Scratcher games (including top prizes remaining) on its Web site, www.valottery.com.

Players shall be able to view a daily update of how many prizes, at each prize level, have not yet been claimed for each Scratcher game. The Lottery Web site is the most current public source for information about remaining prizes. In addition, players can contact the Virginia Lottery by telephone, U.S. mail, or e-mail.

Players may also review lists of remaining prizes posted at Lottery play centers in some retailer locations (such lists are updated when Lottery employees visit retailers, typically every two weeks.)

Players and Lottery employees may contact the Virginia Lottery Communications Department at (804) 692-7778 or via the “Contact Us” link on the Lottery Web site with any questions or concerns regarding Scratcher prizes remaining.

When both of the following events have occurred in any Scratcher game:

1. The last instant win top prize has been claimed.
2. All second-chance top prize drawings, if any, have been held

the Virginia Lottery will:

a) notify all Lottery retailers and Customer Service Centers to cease selling the affected game immediately and to return unsold tickets
b) automatically block future orders via the Lottery’s computer systems
c) automatically update the Web site on the next calendar day to inform players that no top prizes remain for the affected game and that the game is no longer available for purchase
